Sharp-Eyed “Jeopardy!” Fans Spot Steve Kornacki’s Sister on the Show
“Jeopardy!” viewers are known for their sharp eyes, catching everything from obscure trivia to familiar faces.
This week, it was the latter, as contestant Katie Kornacki, an English professor from Hartford, caught the attention of viewers due to her resemblance to a certain NBC News political correspondent. Fans quickly realized Katie is, in fact, the sister of Steve Kornacki.
Social media lit up with the discovery, with comments like, “Just now picking up that Katie is Steve Kornacki’s sister!” and playful speculations about whether some of Katie’s “retail score” items might have belonged to her famous brother.
While Katie’s family connection drew attention, she also impressed with her trivia knowledge. Unfortunately, she couldn’t quite clinch the win.
Going into Final Jeopardy, Katie held a respectable second place. The final clue, about a 1974 book cover featuring a woman posing as if swimming, proved too tough to crack within the allotted time.
This allowed her competitor, Cox, to secure the victory.
“Jeopardy!” Clues Spark Debate, Again
It wouldn’t be “Jeopardy!” without a little controversy.
A recent episode sparked debate online after a Final Jeopardy clue about a company logo stumped all three contestants. The clue referenced a 1979 “stencil” logo emphasizing “energy” and “value.”
While the contestants guessed Staples and Kmart, the correct response was Home Depot. Fans took to Reddit to express their frustration, with some arguing the clue was misleading and lacked sufficient information to lead to the correct answer.
Others felt the clue was fair, highlighting the sometimes “hyper-specific” nature of business-related categories.
