Royal Faces Rape Charges

Additional Coverage:

Marius Borg Høiby, stepson of Norway’s Crown Prince Haakon, is facing serious charges including rape, sexual assault, and bodily harm. The charges follow a month-long investigation by the Oslo Police District stemming from multiple arrests earlier this year. Oslo Police Attorney Andreas Kruszewski confirmed the number of alleged victims is in the “double-digits.”

According to the Associated Press, the charges against the 28-year-old Høiby include one count of rape with intercourse, two counts of rape without intercourse, four counts of sexual assault, and two counts of bodily harm. Kruszewski stated that Høiby cooperated with police during questioning.

The Oslo Police District released a statement outlining the “thorough investigation,” which involved numerous witness interviews, multiple searches, and a comprehensive review of digital material.

Høiby’s attorney, Petar Sekulic, maintains his client’s innocence, particularly regarding the allegations of sexual abuse and violence. The Royal House of Norway has acknowledged the ongoing legal proceedings but declined to comment further.
