Wrestling Legend Ric Flair Asks for Prayers Before Surgery
WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair has requested prayers from fans as he faces another surgery. The “Nature Boy” posted photos on social media Monday showing bandages on his forehead and stitches on his abdomen, along with the message: “Surgery Coming Up.
Keep Me In Your Prayers. It’s All Fragile.”
This news comes just weeks after the 76-year-old revealed his second skin cancer diagnosis in three years. While Flair initially kept the diagnosis private, he later confirmed it and began treatment. He recently offered thanks on social media for the outpouring of support he’d received.
The nature of the upcoming surgery remains unclear. While the forehead bandage suggests possible melanoma removal, the abdominal stitches recall Flair’s near-fatal 2017 surgery for a ruptured intestine and subsequent complications. At the time, doctors gave him a slim 20% chance of survival.
This latest health concern caused Flair to cancel an appearance at a Mississippi wellness clinic. Though he had previously reassured fans he was recovering, the surgery announcement sparked renewed concern and support from the wrestling community.
Flair, a two-time WWE Hall of Famer, remains a prominent figure in professional wrestling. He continues to make appearances, including a recent tribute to his late Four Horsemen teammate, Steve “Mongo” McMichael.
The 16-time world champion’s legacy continues through his daughter, WWE star Charlotte Flair. Known for his openness about his life’s highs and lows, Flair now faces another challenge.
Fans and fellow wrestlers alike are hoping for a speedy recovery for the iconic “Nature Boy.” No details about the surgery or expected recovery time have been released.
