Celebrity chef Bobby Flay recently shared a touching tribute to his late cat, Nacho. Flay posted a video on social media showcasing a tree he planted in Nacho’s memory, surrounded by vibrant orange flowers.
“I planted a tree for Nacho,” Flay captioned the video. “It’s surrounded by orange flowers.
The tree has flowers too, which bloom every summer.” The video concludes with a close-up of a plaque dedicated to Nacho, reading, “In loving memory of Nacho Flay…
Though Nacho crossed the Rainbow Bridge, his magic was truly special.”
Fellow chefs and fans flooded the comments section with messages of support and admiration for the memorial. Chef Michael Symon commented, “Love this,” while Sunny Anderson added, “Nice, Bobby.”
Viet Pham called it a “beautiful tribute,” and other chefs like Maneet Chauhan and Carson Kressley left heart-eye emojis. Fans also shared their condolences and praised the heartwarming gesture.
Nacho, a fluffy orange Maine Coon, was a frequent presence on Flay’s television shows and social media. Following Nacho’s passing, Flay adopted another orange Maine Coon, Canelo, who joins Flay’s other Maine Coon, Stella. Flay credits the late chef Anne Burrell for introducing him to the breed, calling it “the greatest gift” she gave him.
