Kingsland, TX – Dramatic timelapse footage captured the rapid rise of the Llano River on July 4th, transforming a popular local swimming spot into a raging torrent in mere minutes.
Robert Ivey, who continuously monitors the low water crossing known as “the slab” with a security camera, recorded the astonishing footage. The video shows authorities scrambling to close off the crossing just before floodwaters completely engulf the area. The inundation, Ivey confirmed, took a mere ten minutes.
This dramatic scene unfolded amidst widespread and deadly flooding across Texas Hill Country. Governor Greg Abbott, in a recent news conference, updated the death toll from the devastating floods to 69, with the majority of fatalities occurring in Kerr County and surrounding areas.
