Tragedy at Milan Bergamo Airport as Man Drawn into Plane Engine

A man lost his life in a horrific accident at Milan Bergamo Airport on Tuesday morning. He was pulled into the engine of a departing Volotea flight bound for Asturias, Spain. The incident occurred shortly after the plane left its stand, according to reports.

Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera, citing airport officials, reported that the man ran onto the tarmac as the aircraft prepared for takeoff. While Volotea airlines confirmed a “serious injury” to an individual not affiliated with the airline or the flight, local media confirmed the fatality. The airline reported all 154 passengers and six crew members were unharmed but are receiving psychological support.

Flights at the airport were temporarily suspended but resumed by midday. An investigation is underway to determine how the man accessed the runway. Authorities are working to piece together the events leading up to this tragic accident.
