McDonald’s Snack Wraps Return After Long Absence

The McSnack Wrap is Back! But is it Worth the Hype?

After a near-decade hiatus, the much-anticipated return of the McDonald’s Snack Wrap has finally arrived. Discontinued in 2016 and officially off the menu since 2020, fans launched an 18,000-signature petition demanding its comeback. Now, for $2.99 each, customers can once again enjoy this classic in two flavors: ranch and a new spicy pepper sauce.

Both wraps feature McDonald’s new McCrispy chicken tenders, introduced earlier this year, along with shredded cheese and lettuce, all tucked into a warm tortilla. The spicy version boasts a generous helping of a new spicy pepper sauce, while the ranch version offers a familiar creamy counterpart.

But does the Snack Wrap live up to the hype? I visited my local McDonald’s to find out.

While the restaurant buzzed with lunchtime activity, the Snack Wrap’s return seemed to go unnoticed by most patrons – no signs advertised its comeback, and I was apparently the only one ordering it. Using the self-order kiosk (which did feature the Snack Wrap), I ordered both flavors.

Back home, I unwrapped my neatly packaged Snack Wraps, clearly labeled with their respective flavors. Both were generously sauced – the spicy version offered a pleasant kick without being overwhelming, complementing the crispy chicken tender and fresh lettuce. The ranch version delivered a comforting, familiar flavor, balancing the richness of the sauce with the crispiness of the chicken and the lightness of the lettuce.

Despite their “snack” designation, I found each wrap surprisingly filling, making for a satisfying quick lunch. In a fast-food landscape saturated with limited-time offers and unusual flavor combinations, the Snack Wrap’s return is a welcome reminder that sometimes, simple is best.

Its affordable price, crispy chicken, and classic flavor options explain why fans clamored for its return. For a quick, tasty, and budget-friendly meal, the Snack Wrap hits the spot.
