Chandler Police Recommend Felony Child Abuse Charge Against Influencer’s Husband

Chandler, AZ—The Chandler Police Department (CPD) has concluded its investigation into the May 18 drowning death of three-year-old Trigg Kiser. They have formally recommended that the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office file a Class 4 felony child abuse charge against the boy’s father, 28-year-old Brady Kiser.

Trigg, son of social media influencer Emilie Kiser, drowned in the family’s backyard pool while his mother was out with friends. According to reports, Mr.

Kiser told police he was home with Trigg and the couple’s newborn son at the time of the incident. He stated that he had turned away for “three to five minutes” before discovering Trigg in the pool.

First responders performed CPR at the scene, but Trigg tragically passed away six days later.

If charged and convicted, Mr. Kiser could face between one and 3.75 years in prison. However, probation is a possibility for first-time offenders.

This case has drawn considerable public attention due to Ms. Kiser’s large social media following.

She has not posted online since the incident and has filed a legal request to block the release of investigative and post-mortem records related to Trigg’s death. In the complaint, she cited concerns about the emotional harm to her family and the potential for exploitation of the tragedy.

She argues that the release of such sensitive materials would weaponize public records laws and violate her family’s privacy. The request is currently pending review.

The Maricopa County Attorney’s Office has not yet announced whether it will file charges against Mr. Kiser.
