Former Days of Our Lives star Alison Sweeney has traded the Hollywood Hills for a healthier, more grounded life in Arizona, and she wouldn’t have it any other way. In a recent interview with Fox News Digital, the 48-year-old actress expressed no regrets about leaving Hollywood behind.
“I miss my family,” she admitted, “but they’re not really in Hollywood anyway. I’m thrilled with my life.
I love how normal it is.”
Sweeney, who began her career as a child actor in a Kodak commercial at just four years old, went on to star in numerous film and television roles, including a long stint on the popular daytime drama Days of Our Lives. She also hosted The Biggest Loser, an experience that profoundly shaped her views on health and wellness.
The actress acknowledges past struggles with self-confidence in the image-obsessed world of entertainment, recalling a time when she constantly compared herself to others. Crediting her close-knit family for keeping her grounded, Sweeney emphasized the importance of having a strong support system.
Now a busy mother of two with husband David Sanov, Sweeney prioritizes her well-being and a balanced lifestyle. She recently partnered with Align Probiotics, a collaboration she feels passionate about.
“I care about my health,” Sweeney stated, echoing a growing trend toward greater health awareness. Reflecting on her time on The Biggest Loser, she noted, “Your body is trying to communicate with you.
If you’re listening to those signs, you can make a lot of better choices for yourself.”
Sweeney believes nutrition plays a crucial role in overall health and encourages others to focus on healthy living as a long-term goal rather than striving for a specific body image. “Skinny is really not the right goal,” she emphasized.
“Healthy living is the right goal. It’s a marathon, not a sprint.”
