“Pawn Stars” Rick Harrison Gets Groovy With Vintage Walkman

Rick Harrison, star of the hit show “Pawn Stars,” usually deals with historical artifacts and rare coins. But recently, he took a trip down memory lane with a blast from the past: a 1985 Sony Walkman, specifically the Guys and Dolls special edition.

Harrison, clearly excited by the vintage device, reminisced about its impact. “In 1985, if you had a Walkman, you were the coolest thing on the planet,” he recalled, adding that the device revolutionized portable music.

He even shared a little-known fact: early Walkmans had two headphone jacks because Sony thought it would be rude to listen alone!

Harrison’s nostalgia went into overdrive after he bought the Walkman from a seller for $700 (after some playful haggling that started at $1000). Donning the headphones, Harrison busted some moves in the back room, much to the amusement of his son, Corey, and Chumlee.

Chumlee even joined in the fun, plugging into the second jack for a spontaneous dance party. Corey, while slightly exasperated, summed up the scene perfectly: “If it keeps them entertained for a while, fine.”
