- ‘Pawn Stars’ seller brings creepy Chucky doll from ‘Child’s Play’ — but still couldn’t strike a deal (marketrealist.com)
A “Good Guys” doll, prop from the iconic horror film Child’s Play, recently made a chilling appearance on the History Channel’s Pawn Stars. Seller Matt hoped to cash in on the creepy collectible, but ultimately couldn’t strike a deal with Corey Harrison.
Matt explained the doll’s provenance, revealing it was a gift from a friend whose children were understandably terrified of the movie prop. He hoped to sell the doll to contribute to his friend’s children’s college fund.
Both Harrison and Chumlee admitted to childhood fears of the film, with Harrison summarizing the plot for viewers. Matt clarified that his doll wasn’t the primary Chucky doll, but a prop used in multiple scenes, backed by a certificate of authenticity.
Initially asking $8,800, Matt touted the doll’s screen time in both the first and second Child’s Play films. Harrison, intrigued but cautious, consulted expert Rob. Rob authenticated the certificate and, impressed by the doll’s condition, appraised it at $5,000.
Harrison, citing auction fees, offered a low $1,000. Matt countered with a firm $6,500.
Despite Harrison raising his offer to $2,000, the gap proved too wide. Confident he could secure a better price elsewhere, Matt walked away, leaving the “Good Guys” doll to seek its fortune in another market.
