Former Prime Minister Justin Trudeau Dines with Pop Star Katy Perry in Montreal

Former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and pop superstar Katy Perry were spotted enjoying a quiet dinner together at Montreal’s upscale Le Violon restaurant on Monday evening. The pair spent approximately two hours at the establishment, sparking online speculation after TMZ published photos and video of their meeting.

A communications consultant for Le Violon confirmed the dinner, describing the atmosphere as “chill” and noting the two kept to themselves. While they engaged in animated conversation, there were no overt displays of affection.

Perry is currently on tour, with recent and upcoming shows in Ottawa, Montreal, Quebec City, and Toronto. Trudeau announced his resignation earlier this year after nearly a decade as prime minister. Both Trudeau and Perry recently ended long-term relationships; Trudeau separated from his wife Sophie Grégoire earlier this year, while Perry recently split from actor Orlando Bloom.

According to restaurant staff, Trudeau and Perry enjoyed a chef’s menu featuring a variety of appetizers, including tuna, beef tartare, lobster, and asparagus, followed by a lamb main course. Chef Danny Smiles reportedly greeted the pair at their table, and they later thanked the kitchen staff before departing. Representatives for both Trudeau and Perry have not yet commented on the dinner.
