Clearwater, FL – Wrestling legend Hulk Hogan, 71, passed away last month from a heart attack, according to his recently released death certificate. The document officially lists the cause of death as an acute myocardial infarction. Hogan had also been privately battling atrial fibrillation and chronic lymphocytic leukemia.
Clearwater Fire and Rescue responded to a medical emergency at Hogan’s Eldorado Avenue home on July 24th at 9:51 a.m. He was transported to Morton Plant Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased at 11:17 a.m.
The death certificate indicates Hogan will be cremated in Clearwater, with a memorial service planned at Sylvan Abbey Memorial Park and Funeral Home. While cremation approval has been requested by the family, the Pinellas County Forensic Science Center could not confirm the exact date of the cremation. It is not yet known whether the services will be public.
Hogan’s passing prompted an outpouring of grief from fans and fellow wrestlers. His wife, Sky, shared a heartfelt tribute on social media, acknowledging his recent health struggles and expressing her deep sorrow.
She described him as a legend to the world, but to her, simply “Terry,” the man she loved. She highlighted Hogan’s dedication to his fans, pushing through physical discomfort to connect with them.
She asked for prayers for the family as they cope with their loss.
