Rock legend Ozzy Osbourne’s official cause of death has been confirmed as acute myocardial infarction, commonly known as a heart attack. According to the death certificate, the heart attack occurred outside of a hospital setting and resulted in cardiac arrest.
The certificate also listed coronary artery disease and Parkinson’s disease with autonomic dysfunction as contributing factors. Osbourne had publicly disclosed his Parkinson’s diagnosis in 2020.
Despite his health challenges, Osbourne remained dedicated to his music, performing a final show with his band just weeks before his passing. He had openly discussed his struggles with declining health, acknowledging the ongoing setbacks and his determination to keep performing.
Osbourne maintained an active lifestyle to combat his health issues, incorporating weights and biking into his routine. He also worked with a vocal coach to preserve his voice.
Over the years, Osbourne had also endured multiple falls, a serious vehicular accident requiring the implantation of metal rods, and the development of blood clots in his leg. He had been open about his past struggles with substance abuse, referring to it as “self-medicating,” and had actively pursued sobriety.
His family released a statement following his death, expressing their profound sadness and requesting privacy. They emphasized that he was surrounded by loved ones at the time of his passing.
