Niagara Falls Views Don’t Get Much Better Than This
Last August, I crossed the Rainbow Bridge into Canada, the roar of Niagara Falls echoing in my ears. My destination: the Sheraton Fallsview Hotel, where I’d booked two nights with a highly coveted room upgrade.
With over 200 hotels in Niagara Falls, Ontario, the choice can be overwhelming. But the Sheraton Fallsview, a four-star Marriott Bonvoy property, consistently earns top marks for its unparalleled views. While standard rooms start around $150, my premium Fallsview room, boasting 258 square feet and floor-to-ceiling windows, cost $500 a night – a splurge justified by the prime summer season.
From the moment I arrived, the experience was breathtaking. The hotel lobby offered comfortable seating, though I hardly noticed, eager to get to my room.
And there it was: a panoramic vista of all three falls – American, Bridal Veil, and Horseshoe – framed perfectly by my window. While the room lacked a true balcony, a small access door allowed me to fully experience the roar of the cascading water.
Inside, the room was well-appointed with a queen bed, a sitting area, and a bathroom featuring a luxurious rainfall showerhead. But the real star was the view.
Each morning, I woke to the soothing sounds of the falls. And at night, a spectacular light show illuminated the water, culminating in a 10 p.m. fireworks display – a delightful surprise visible right from my bed.
While the hotel offers amenities like a spa, gym, and rooftop pool, I spent most of my time mesmerized by the natural wonder outside my window. Was it worth the $500 price tag?
During fireworks season, absolutely. The nightly show, combined with the constant presence of the falls, made it an unforgettable experience.
However, outside of fireworks season, I might explore other hotels offering different perspectives on this magnificent natural wonder.
