Prisoner Flees Police at Airport

Additional Coverage:

A manhunt is underway for an escaped inmate who fled custody while being transported through Seattle-Tacoma International Airport Tuesday evening.

20-year-old John Nino, described as 6’2″ and 154 pounds, was last seen around 8 p.m. wearing a red coat and gray sweatpants. Authorities say he was spotted crossing railroad tracks near Highway 99, adjacent to the airport.

Nino was being extradited from New Mexico, having been arrested there several days prior. He was on community supervision in Washington state for second-degree robbery and had an outstanding warrant for failing to meet with his corrections officer.

This incident marks the second escape from Sea-Tac Airport this year. In May, inmate Sedric Stevenson escaped and evaded capture for over six weeks before being apprehended in Kentucky on multiple charges.

The public is urged not to approach Nino if spotted, but to immediately contact law enforcement.
