KFC Brings Back Beloved Potato Wedges and Hot & Spicy Wings
Get ready, KFC fans! The Colonel has heard your pleas.
After a five-year hiatus, the much-missed Potato Wedges are returning to menus nationwide on August 18th. And that’s not all – the popular Hot & Spicy Wings are also making a comeback.
KFC officially announced the exciting news on August 11th, confirming that both the Wedges and the Wings will be available across the country. The Wedges, a cult favorite discontinued in 2020, are back to reclaim their rightful place beside the Colonel’s famous chicken. The double-breaded, extra crispy Hot & Spicy Wings, absent for the past two years, are also returning.
The return of these beloved menu items is a direct response to overwhelming customer demand. Years of social media campaigns, petitions, and a successful test run in Tampa finally convinced KFC to bring back these fan favorites.
KFC U.S. President, Catherine Tan-Gillespie, acknowledged the “five long years” without the Wedges and described their return as part of the “Kentucky Fried Comeback,” an initiative to reinstate popular menu items.
Customers can order Wedges as a side, substitute them into any meal, or enjoy them with wings in the new six-piece Wings & Wedges Combo, which includes a drink. For the ultimate feast, the $20 Wings & Wedges Fan Favorites Box offers 10 wings, 12 nuggets, wedges, biscuits, and dipping sauces.
Other deals include a $3.99 chicken sandwich and a “20 Wings for $20” digital exclusive starting September 4th. The popular $10 Tuesdays promotion will also continue.
KFC assures fans that the Wedges will be just as they remember them: thick-cut, skin-on potatoes, seasoned and crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. The Hot & Spicy Wings will also maintain their signature marinade and double-breading.
