Country music icon Reba McEntire has shared a heartfelt tribute to her stepson, Brandon Blackstock, following his passing. Blackstock, son of McEntire’s ex-husband Narvel Blackstock, died last week at the age of 48 after a battle with melanoma.

In a touching Instagram post, McEntire mourned the loss, saying, “Last week, my stepson/oldest son Brandon Blackstock went home to be with God. His struggle is over and he is in eternal peace in God’s presence.”

She celebrated his unique spirit, adding, “There is no one else like him, and I’m thankful for the time we had together. His legacy and laughter will be carried on through his family.”

She concluded her message with a poignant, “Rest in peace cowboy. Happy trails to you til we meet again.”

Blackstock is survived by his four children: Savannah and Seth from his first marriage to Melissa Ashworth, and River and Remington from his second marriage to singer Kelly Clarkson. His family released a statement last week confirming his peaceful passing, surrounded by loved ones. They requested privacy during this difficult time.

Clarkson recently postponed her Las Vegas residency shows, citing the need to be present for her children amidst their father’s illness. The singer and Blackstock finalized their divorce in 2020 after seven years of marriage.
