Kate Gosselin Responds to Son Collin’s Claims of Forced Separation
Kate Gosselin has addressed recent claims by her son, Collin, who suggested he was forced into estrangement from his seven siblings. Collin posted a throwback photo of himself with his siblings captioned, “Born to be a team, us against the world…” He followed this with a more recent picture of himself driving, adding, “Forced to do it alone, and wonder every day what our lives could’ve looked like.”
While Kate Gosselin is typically selective about her public responses, she replied to a fan’s comment on her TikTok video, “Kitchen Talk and Tips.” The fan shared a screenshot of Collin’s post, to which Kate simply replied, “he knows why,” accompanied by a sad face emoji.
This sparked numerous comments, some supportive of Kate, others critical. One commenter defended Kate, speculating about potential behavioral issues that may have necessitated Collin’s separation from the family, citing Jon Gosselin’s alleged absences. Kate responded to this comment with a succinct “Bingo.”
The estrangement between Kate and Collin began when he was 12, after Kate sent him to Fairmont Behavioral Health Institute, citing behavioral concerns. Collin now lives with his father, Jon, and has publicly criticized his mother in interviews and on social media.
He and Kate haven’t spoken for several years. Hannah Gosselin also lives with Jon but reportedly maintains some contact with Kate and her siblings.
The Gosselin family gained fame through the TLC reality show Jon and Kate Plus 8. Twins Mady and Cara are approaching their 25th birthday, while the sextuplets, including Alexis, Aaden, Leah, Joel, Collin, and Hannah, are 21.
