Six Severed Heads Discovered in Central Mexico
Mexican authorities have launched an investigation following the grim discovery of six severed human heads in the central states of Puebla and Tlaxcala. The Tlaxcala Prosecutor’s Office confirmed the discovery and stated via social media that the heads belonged to men, but declined to release further details at this time.
While not among the most violent states in Mexico, Puebla and Tlaxcala, located approximately 62 miles from Mexico City, have faced challenges related to organized crime, including drug and human trafficking. Though considered relatively safe travel destinations by US standards, the discovery underscores the complex security issues facing the region. Further information is expected as the investigation progresses.
