DC Protesters Called “Old White Hippies” by White House Official

Washington, D.C. – White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller sparked controversy Wednesday by dismissing protesters in the nation’s capital as “old stupid white hippies” who should “go home and take a nap.” Speaking alongside Pete Hegseth and Vice President J.D.

Vance, Miller claimed the demonstrators had “no connections” to the D.C. community and were advocating for “criminals, killers, rapists, and drug dealers.” He pledged to increase resources to remove these individuals from the city.

Miller asserted that the protesters were not representative of D.C.’s predominantly Black population and praised President Trump’s efforts to improve safety for Black residents. He further characterized the demonstrators as “elderly white hippies” over 90 years old who were not part of the city.

These comments follow President Trump’s recent decision to place D.C. police under federal control, invoking Section 740 of the District of Columbia Home Rule Act. Trump described this move as an effort to “take our capital back” and restore “law and order.” He also announced the deployment of the National Guard to assist in these efforts.

Earlier this month, Miller echoed Trump’s claims that Washington, D.C. was more dangerous than Baghdad, Iraq, seemingly justifying the President’s actions to increase federal control over the city.
