SpaceX Postpones Starship’s Tenth Test Flight Due to Technical Glitch

Boca Chica, Texas – SpaceX’s ambitions for a tenth test flight of its Starship launch vehicle hit a snag on Sunday. The company announced a postponement of the highly anticipated launch, originally scheduled for approximately 6:30 p.m. from their Boca Chica facility, citing the need to address a ground systems issue. This marks the fourth attempt this year to launch Starship, the colossal rocket poised to succeed SpaceX’s Falcon 9 and Falcon Heavy.

This latest setback follows a series of challenges for the Starship program. A preflight explosion marred the June attempt (Flight 9), while Flight 8 in March lost communication shortly after liftoff. Flight 7 met a similar fate, exploding soon after launch.

In other SpaceX news, a Falcon 9 rocket successfully launched from Cape Canaveral, Florida, earlier on Sunday. Carrying 5,000 pounds of cargo, the rocket embarked on the 50th Dragon capsule mission and the 33rd resupply mission to the International Space Station. The Falcon 9’s first stage landed smoothly on the drone ship “A Shortfall of Gravitas.”
