Royal Move Raises Privacy Concerns Among Neighbors

The Prince and Princess of Wales’s upcoming move to Forest Lodge in Windsor Great Park has neighbors worried about the royal couple’s privacy. While welcoming William and Kate, residents of the nearby Cranbourne Hall Residential Park expressed concerns that the eight-bedroom Lodge offers less privacy than their current four-bedroom Adelaide Cottage.

One resident, 87-year-old Jean Reeve, told reporters, “I welcome them, but I hope the public allow them to live there quietly as a family. They have young children after all.

They deserve privacy.” She added that the new location seems less private and worries about the public constantly passing by.

New privacy measures, including a metal fence with a black mesh screen and larger shrubs, have been installed around the property.

The move has also reportedly impacted two families who previously lived near Forest Lodge. Royal expert Ian Pelham Turner claims the families were asked to vacate their properties to minimize prying eyes on the royal family.

While no eviction notices were issued, the families were reportedly given comparable or better housing within the Great Park, remaining within Crown Estate properties. However, a source told the Daily Mail that the move was unexpected for the families.

The source claims they were simply told to move, speculating it was to prevent anyone unwanted from living so close to the royals. The Palace has been contacted for comment.
