A 17-year-old girl has been arrested in Harris County, Texas, and charged with injury to a child with serious bodily injury in connection with the death of her 8-year-old brother. Kara Walker’s arrest follows that of her boyfriend, 18-year-old Nolan Stallings, who was charged with the same crime in March.
Authorities report the young boy died in February, just days after being admitted to a hospital in critical condition with multiple injuries. The alleged abuse occurred at a home in the Highlands area where Stallings resided with his family. While Stallings initially claimed the boy had “fallen down a lot,” court documents reveal a far more disturbing picture.
According to these documents, the 8-year-old endured days of abuse and torture, ultimately leading to his death. The documents allege Stallings used blunt objects, unknown objects, and his hand to inflict the injuries. A motive for the abuse has not been released.
Stallings is currently held in the Harris County Jail on a $1 million bond. Walker’s bond is set at $100,000.
Her next court appearance is scheduled for Tuesday. The investigation is ongoing.
