Jasveen Sangha, 42, Dubbed the “Ketamine Queen,” Pleads Guilty in Matthew Perry Overdose Case

Los Angeles – Jasveen Sangha, the woman known as the “Ketamine Queen,” has admitted her role in the tragic death of “Friends” star Matthew Perry. Sangha pleaded guilty on Wednesday to multiple charges, including distribution of ketamine resulting in death or serious bodily injury. This marks the final conviction in the case, bringing the total to five.

Sangha, a dual U.S.-U.K. citizen, entered her plea in a Los Angeles federal court. She faces a potential 65-year prison sentence.

Her sentencing is scheduled for December 10th. Outside the courthouse, her attorney, Mark Geragos, stated that Sangha “feels horrible” and has “accepted responsibility” for her actions.

He added that mitigating factors will be presented during the sentencing phase.

Perry, 54, was found unresponsive in his Los Angeles home on October 28, 2023. An autopsy confirmed his death resulted from a ketamine overdose. The investigation revealed a network of individuals involved in supplying the actor with the drug.

Along with Sangha, four others have pleaded guilty in connection with Perry’s death:

  • Kenneth Iwamasa, Perry’s personal assistant, admitted to administering the fatal dose.
  • Doctors Salvador Plasencia and Mark Chavez were involved in supplying the ketamine.
  • Erik Fleming worked with Sangha to distribute the drug to Perry.

Prosecutors outlined how Sangha and Fleming provided Perry with 51 vials of ketamine in October 2023, which were then given to Iwamasa. Iwamasa subsequently injected Perry with at least three doses of the drug on the day of his death.

Sangha’s plea agreement also includes an admission to her involvement in another overdose death. Cody McLaury died in August 2019, just hours after Sangha sold him ketamine.

Furthermore, she admitted to using her North Hollywood residence as a hub for drug distribution, storing and packaging narcotics, including ketamine and methamphetamine. A search of her home in March 2023 uncovered a substantial quantity of ketamine, along with other drugs and paraphernalia.
