Auburn, MA – Two women’s attempt to celebrate a shoplifting spree with fast food ended abruptly when they were arrested in a Wendy’s drive-thru, Auburn police reported. Dominique Marion, 38, and Tynaja Williams, 24, allegedly stole over $2,000 worth of merchandise from a local TJ Maxx on August 13th. Their getaway car, a black Ford Edge with Connecticut plates, was spotted in the drive-thru line directly across the street from the store by an officer familiar with the establishment.

According to the Auburn Police Department’s Facebook page, Sergeant Wildman, whose fondness for Wendy’s is well-known, recognized the suspect vehicle. Officers Markvenas, Crowley, and Brooks apprehended the women, discovering the stolen merchandise in plain view in the back of the SUV. Marion and Williams were charged with larceny over $1,200 and conspiracy.

During a subsequent inventory of the stolen goods, Detectives Bresse and Ryan uncovered additional items believed to have been taken from other area retailers. The investigation is ongoing, and further charges are possible.

Auburn police are working to return the recovered merchandise to the rightful owners. The department humorously concluded their Facebook post with a reminder: “Moral of the story: Felonies do not come with a side of fries.”
