Lost YouTuber Found in Michigan Woods After Survival Challenge Goes Awry

A California woman participating in a YouTube survival challenge found herself needing real-life rescuing after getting lost in a northern Michigan state forest. The 36-year-old contestant became disoriented Friday evening in the dense Pigeon River State Forest. She was reported missing early Saturday morning, prompting a search by the Otsego County Sheriff’s Office and Michigan State Police.

Search and rescue dogs were initially deployed, followed by Trooper 6, a Michigan State Police helicopter. Using the aircraft’s camera, the helicopter crew located the woman around 10:40 a.m.

Saturday. She was then escorted out of the woods by law enforcement and firefighters.

This incident echoes a similar situation from April, where a missing woman was found after three days lost in the woods of West Michigan, thanks to the assistance of drone cameras.
