“Modern Family” star Eric Stonestreet ties the knot!
Eric Stonestreet, best known for his role as Cameron Tucker on the hit sitcom “Modern Family,” recently married his longtime partner, Lindsay Schweitzer. The actor shared the happy news on social media with a series of photos from their wedding day, captioned, “It’s my birthday and guess what I got.”
The couple exchanged vows at their home in Kansas City, Missouri. Stonestreet’s on-screen husband, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, offered his congratulations online, jokingly commenting, “Of all second marriages, this one is my favorite!
I love you both! I’m so happy for you!!!!”
Stonestreet had previously revealed his plans to marry Schweitzer at their newly-built Kansas City home. He told People magazine, “We’re almost done with the house, and that’s been our plan all along… We got engaged and then all of a sudden got an opportunity to build a house, and I thought, ‘No better way to start a relationship than literally building a foundation.’”
The couple’s engagement came in 2021 after five years of dating. Stonestreet shared that he knew Schweitzer was the one, telling People, “We’ve been together for a long time, and I just knew I wasn’t going to find a better partner in life than Lindsay…
So it just made the most sense. And I’d taken my sweet old time.”
Stonestreet and Schweitzer first met in 2016 at the Big Slick charity weekend in Kansas City. They maintained a long-distance relationship while Stonestreet filmed the final seasons of “Modern Family” before he moved back to Kansas City after the show wrapped in 2020.
