Erin Bates Paine is finally home after a harrowing three-week hospital stay for septic shock. The Bringing Up Bates star and her husband, Chad Paine, shared the joyful news with fans on Instagram Saturday.
“After almost three weeks in the hospital, I have never been so thankful to finally head home to our babies,” Erin wrote. While she expressed gratitude for her return home, Erin acknowledged that her journey to full recovery is ongoing.
She still lacks function in her right leg and doctors are still working to determine the underlying cause of her illness. The couple is choosing to focus on the positive, particularly being reunited as a family, and thanked followers for their continued prayers.
Erin’s hospitalization followed the birth of her seventh child, Henry, on August 25th. A severe UTI and subsequent kidney infection led to septic shock, landing her in the ICU.
On September 4th, Chad shared a frightening update, revealing that Erin had experienced a severe seizure. Doctors conducted extensive tests to pinpoint the cause, leaving the family facing uncertainty and worry.
Just days before Erin’s release, her parents, Gil and Kelly Jo Bates, shared that doctors were still puzzled by her fluctuating condition. While the future course of Erin’s treatment remains unclear, her release from the hospital signals a positive step forward. Fans flooded the couple’s Instagram with messages of support, relief, and prayers for her continued recovery.
