Big ‘Wheel of Fortune’ Win, No Bonus Needed

Additional Coverage:

Wheel of Fortune contestant Joe Ferroni proved that it’s possible to win big even without cracking the bonus round puzzle. In a stunning display of skill, Ferroni racked up over $63,000 in cash and prizes before reaching the final round, solving nearly every puzzle thrown his way.

His winning streak began with the first puzzle of the day, followed by a “Year of Fun” wedge and a trip to Hawaii worth over $10,000. Ferroni then dominated the Express Round, adding a trip to Turks and Caicos to his winnings. By the time he reached the bonus round, he had amassed an impressive $63,018.

Joined by his wife and daughter, Ferroni chose “Phrase” as his final category. Facing a two-word puzzle with the letters “R, S, T, L, N, E” already displayed, he selected “C, M, G, and I” for his additional letters.

The puzzle read “ER _ S_I_N _LE.” Despite spirited guesses like “Very Personable,” “Very Distinguishable,” and even “Very Disturbing,” Ferroni couldn’t solve the puzzle, which was revealed to be “Very Fashionable.”

While he missed out on an additional $45,000, Ferroni remained cheerful, securing one of the season’s biggest pre-bonus round wins.
