LAPD Searches Home of Singer D4vd Amid Teen’s Death Investigation
Los Angeles police executed a search warrant at a Hollywood Hills residence associated with singer D4vd, whose legal name is David Anthony Burke, as part of an ongoing investigation into the death of 15-year-old Celeste Rivas. Rivas’s body was discovered earlier this month in the trunk of Burke’s Tesla.
The search at the property, where Burke had been staying though he is not the owner, has since concluded. Authorities seized numerous items, including computers and other electronics, according to law enforcement sources.
Celeste Rivas was identified after her body was found in a vehicle at a Hollywood impound lot. Police were initially dispatched to the location following reports of a “foul odor” emanating from the car.
Rivas had been reported missing on April 5, 2024, from Lake Elsinore, California, when she was 13 years old. Her mother reportedly told investigators that Celeste had a boyfriend named “David.”
Despite the search and seizure of evidence, D4vd has not been charged with any crimes, and the Los Angeles Police Department currently states there are no persons of interest in the case. An LAPD spokesperson confirmed, “Several items of evidence were recovered and will be analyzed by detectives in the coming days.
This is an ongoing investigation. Investigators are following up on several leads.”
Rivas’s body has been released to her family. The medical examiner has deferred the cause of death, pending further investigation. While the date of death is listed as September 8, the day her body was discovered, officials noted that the level of decomposition suggested she had been in the vehicle for an extended period.
In the wake of the discovery, online users, often referred to as “TikTok sleuths,” have reportedly scrutinized D4vd’s social media accounts. They highlighted two allegedly reposted videos that have caused concern.
One depicted a man chopping meat with the caption, “Me if I see her talking to other dudes.” The other showed a man staring at the camera with text overlaying, “Me watching her scream after I poured boiling water on her after she told a boy ‘happy birthday’ bc why you happy he made it another year?”
