Friend Reveals Conversation With Ozzy Osbourne Just Before His Death

Additional Coverage:

Record producer Andrew Watt, a close friend and collaborator of the late rock icon Ozzy Osbourne, recently shared his shock and sorrow following Osbourne’s passing.

According to a report in Rolling Stone, Watt, 34, maintained a daily conversation with Osbourne for six and a half years, right up until the legendary musician’s death on July 22, 2025, at the age of 76. Watt recalled their final conversation on July 21 as “normal,” making the news of Osbourne’s death the next day “a giant shock.” Reflecting on their close bond, Watt added, “I miss the laughter.”

Their relationship deepened as Watt produced Osbourne’s final two albums: 2020’s Ordinary Man and 2022’s Patient Number 9.

Following his death, Osbourne’s family issued a statement confirming he was “with his family and surrounded by love.” On August 5, it was confirmed that the cause of death was a heart attack, with coronary artery disease and Parkinson’s disease listed as contributing factors.

In related news, a BBC One documentary titled Ozzy Osbourne: Coming Home, which was set to chronicle the final chapter of his life with contributions from his wife Sharon Osbourne and children Jack Osbourne and Kelly Osbourne, was abruptly pulled from its August 18 schedule just hours before its planned debut.

However, fans now have a new documentary to anticipate. A trailer has been released for Ozzy Osbourne: No Escape From Now, a two-hour Paramount+ film directed by Tania Alexander.

Set to premiere on October 7, the documentary will delve into Osbourne’s final six years, covering his preparation for his last two albums and farewell tour while battling significant health challenges. The film, which was not originally intended as a posthumous tribute, notably includes interview segments with the rock legend himself, offering a direct look into his later life.
