“Darling,” You Don’t Say! ‘Family Feud’ Contestant Delivers Playful Banter to Steve Harvey
Los Angeles, CA – Long-time “Family Feud” host Steve Harvey is no stranger to wild answers or quirky contestants, but a recent episode saw him in a delightfully awkward dance of flirtation with a player who just couldn’t resist calling him “darling.”
Lydia, a contestant from the Randles family, kept the energy high and the host on his toes during a particularly memorable round. The question posed to 100 women was, “Fill in the blank: Steve Harvey moved in next door. I’m gonna go over and ask to borrow what?”
After Leslie kicked things off with “a cup of sugar” and Jill followed with “a jacket,” the Randles family chose to play. That’s when Lydia’s charm offensive truly began.
As Harvey made his way to her for a response, he playfully quipped, “Here I come, girl, I couldn’t wait to get over here.” Lydia, not missing a beat, offered up “a car,” which landed on the board.
The game continued, with the Randles accumulating two strikes. When the turn circled back to Lydia, the pressure was on, but her focus seemed to be elsewhere – namely, on Steve Harvey.
As Harvey approached, offering a gentle warning, “You gotta be careful, Lydia. You can’t think of nothin’, can you?”
Lydia’s response? A smooth, “I can, darlin’.”
Harvey, initially playing along, soon found himself on the receiving end of a playful challenge. “You’d better watch yourself.
Call me ‘Darlin’ one more time and see what happens to you!” he joked.
But Lydia, clearly a woman who enjoys a good verbal spar, doubled down.
“You gonna mess and wind up, and have yourself in a situation!” Harvey warned, his grin widening.
“I’m a situation specialist, though, so we’re good,” Lydia shot back, much to the studio audience’s delight.
Harvey, ever the showman, delivered the final word in their comedic exchange: “You might not be able to handle the potential situation, though, Lydia!”
Despite the lively banter, the game had to go on. Lydia’s next answer, “Personal chef,” unfortunately wasn’t among the top survey responses.
This opened the door for the opposing Shavitz family to attempt a steal. Jeff from the Shavitz team stepped up to the mic and confidently offered “Liquor” – a successful guess that snatched all the points from the Randles family.
As the round concluded, Harvey revealed the remaining hidden answers, which included the rather bold “Him! Yum!”
and the more practical “Tools.” While Lydia’s team may not have won the round, her unforgettable interaction with Steve Harvey certainly provided a highlight reel moment for “Family Feud” fans everywhere.
