Dolly Parton Postpones Las Vegas Residency Due to Health Concerns
NASHVILLE, TN – Country music icon Dolly Parton has announced the postponement of her highly anticipated Las Vegas concert residency, citing doctors’ orders for “a few procedures.” The 79-year-old superstar shared the news directly with her fans on Sunday via Instagram, reassuring them that she is not retiring from the music business.
Parton was slated to perform six shows at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace later this year. In her online message, she explained, “As many of you know, I have been dealing with some health challenges, and my doctors tell me that I must have a few procedures.”
Known for her characteristic humor, Parton lightened the serious announcement, joking with fans, “As I joked with them, it must be time for my 100,000-mile check-up, although it’s not the usual trip to see my plastic surgeon.” She emphasized her commitment to her audience, stating, “In all seriousness, given this, I am not going to be able to rehearse and put together the show that I want you to see, and the show that you deserve to see. You pay good money to see me perform, and I want to be at my best for you.”
The “Jolene” singer assured her fan base that while she takes this time to recover and prepare, she will continue to work on other projects from her home in Nashville. “And don’t worry about me quittin’ the business because God hasn’t said anything about stopping yet,” she added, explaining that she believes this is a divine message to “slow down right now so I can be ready for more big adventures with all of you.”
The rescheduled Las Vegas performances are now planned for September 2026.
This announcement follows Parton’s recent absence from a Dollywood event celebrating the theme park’s new Night Flight Expedition ride. In a video message shared at the time, Parton cited health issues, revealing she had a kidney stone that led to an infection, requiring her to rest and avoid travel.
