Josh Hartnett Back to Work After Car Crash in Canada
St. Johns, Newfoundland — Actor Josh Hartnett has resumed filming his latest project after being hospitalized last week following a car crash in Canada, his representatives confirmed on Tuesday.
The incident occurred just before 1:00 a.m. on Thursday in St. Johns, Newfoundland, when an SUV collided with a Royal Newfoundland Constabulary patrol vehicle.
According to a press release issued by the Constabulary, both vehicles sustained significant damage. The 59-year-old male driver and the 47-year-old male passenger of the SUV were transported to the hospital with what were believed to be minor injuries.
Hartnett, 47, known for his roles in “Oppenheimer” and “Trap,” was identified as the passenger in the SUV. His publicist confirmed that he has since been released from the hospital, is “doing fine,” and has returned to work. The collision remains under active investigation by authorities.
The actor is currently in Newfoundland filming a new six-episode Netflix limited series. The show, announced in August, focuses on a sea creature terrorizing a small town and features a cast that includes “Stranger Things” star Charlie Heaton and “Lockwood & Co.” actor Ruby Stokes. Netflix has not yet announced a streaming date for the series.
