Local Woman Hits Jackpot with “Golden” Plinko Twist on ‘The Price is Right’
Talk about a golden opportunity! One lucky contestant on “The Price is Right” recently walked away with a prize much bigger than she ever anticipated, thanks to a special twist on one of the show’s most beloved games.
Michelle, a contestant who appeared on the popular game show earlier this year, was already thrilled to be standing on stage with host Drew Carey. But her excitement soared when announcer George Gray revealed she’d be playing Plinko, with a chance to win up to a whopping $100,000!
For those unfamiliar with Plinko, contestants typically start with one chip and can earn up to four more by correctly guessing the prices of various merchandise items. These chips are then dropped down a giant board, bouncing off pegs before landing in slots marked with different cash prizes: $20,000, $5,000, $2,000, $1,000, and even a dreaded $0.
But before Michelle could even start earning her chips, Drew Carey dropped a bombshell. “Tonight, we have a special twist to the game,” he announced with a grin.
“One of the prizes has a special golden Plinko chip attached to it. If you get the gold Plinko chip, wherever that gold Plinko chip drops, we’re gonna times whatever it lands on by 10!”
Michelle, understandably, was absolutely ecstatic at this unexpected bonus. When it came time to play, she proved her pricing prowess, correctly guessing the cost of three out of four items. Crucially, one of her correct guesses was for a training kickboard, which, unbeknownst to her initially, held the coveted golden chip!
With four chips in hand – three regular and one golden – Michelle headed to the top of the Plinko board. Her first three regular chips landed in the $5,000 slot each, quickly racking up $15,000.
Then came the moment of truth. She dropped the golden chip, and as it bounced its way down, it landed right into the $2,000 slot.
Thanks to the golden chip’s special multiplier, that $2,000 instantly became a fantastic $20,000! Added to her initial $15,000, Michelle’s grand total for the Plinko game was an incredible $35,000!
Overwhelmed with joy, Michelle couldn’t contain her gratitude. “Oh my God.
You guys have made my year…my life, probably,” she exclaimed, a sentiment many viewers could surely relate to. It just goes to show, sometimes the biggest prizes come with the most unexpected twists!
