Actress Kimberly Hébert Gregory, known for her roles in “Vice Principals” and “The Chi,” has died at the age of 52. Her passing was announced by her ex-husband, Chester Gregory, in an emotional Instagram post on Saturday.

In his tribute, Chester Gregory remembered Kimberly as “Brilliance Embodied, A Black Woman Whose Mind Lit Every Room, Whose Presence Carried Both Fire And Grace.” He highlighted her lessons in courage, artistry, and resilience, and spoke of their enduring bond, stating, “Through Our Best, Through Our Greatest Challenges, What Remained Was Love, Respect, And A Bond No Storm Could Break.

So much more than ex-wife, You Were My Friend. Our Son, The Song We Wrote Together, Is The Living Echo Of Your Light.”

He added that through their son, her brilliance and laughter would never fade.

Although the Instagram post indicated that the actress died on Friday, October 4, no cause of death was provided.

Gregory’s extensive career included appearances in films such as “I Think I Love My Wife” and television series including “Gossip Girl,” “New Amsterdam,” “Brooklyn Nine-Nine,” and “Better Call Saul.”

Walton Goggins, who co-starred with Gregory in “Vice Principals,” also shared a heartfelt tribute. He expressed his sorrow, saying, “We lost one of the best yesterday… one of the best I’ve ever worked with.
