Nicole Kidman Makes First Public Appearance Following Divorce Filing from Keith Urban
Dallas, TX – Actress Nicole Kidman stepped out publicly on Saturday, just days after filing for divorce from country music star Keith Urban, ending their 19-year marriage. The Oscar-winning actress presented the Award of Inspiration to Taylor Sheridan at the amfAR Dallas Gala, making her first official appearance since the news broke.
Kidman, 58, was seen in a striking long black gown as she attended the high-profile event. Meanwhile, Keith Urban, 57, was photographed earlier in the week without his wedding band ahead of a performance in Hershey, Pennsylvania, as part of his “High and Alive” tour.
The divorce filing by Kidman on September 30 cited “irreconcilable differences” and “ongoing marital difficulties,” according to court documents. The “Big Little Lies” star is seeking to be named the primary residential parent for their two daughters, Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret, and has proposed a parenting plan allocating 306 days per year with her and 59 days with Urban.
Amidst the separation, rumors have surfaced regarding Urban’s relationship with Maggie Baugh, a 25-year-old country artist touring with his band. An “eyebrow-raising” video posted by Baugh showed Urban on stage during a performance of “The Fighter,” changing the lyric from “When they’re tryna get to you, baby, I’ll be the fighter” to “When they’re tryna get to you, Maggie, I’ll be your guitar player.”
Baugh’s caption questioned the lyric change. However, reports indicate Urban is known for ad-libbing during live performances of the song.
Despite the context, sources close to the situation have suggested a new romance for Urban. While an insider confirmed whispers of “another woman,” a source close to Kidman reportedly stated that “all the signs point to the fact Keith is with another woman,” adding that Kidman was “still shocked over it.” Another source claimed the news of Urban’s rumored new relationship is “all over Nashville.”
Kidman and Urban were last seen together publicly in June at a FIFA Club World Cup match in Nashville. The couple met in 2005 in Australia and married in Sydney one year later.
Prior to her marriage to Urban, Kidman was married to actor Tom Cruise, with whom she adopted two children, Isabella and Connor. They divorced in 2001.
