Local Talent Sparks Four-Chair Battle on “The Voice,” Reveals Heartfelt Dedication

“The Voice” stage is buzzing, folks, as the competition heats up and coaches scramble to fill their teams with the next big stars. While Niall Horan is currently racking up the most four-chair turns, fellow coaches Snoop Dogg, Reba McEntire, and Michael Bublé are pulling out all the stops, hoping to land that unique artist who can go all the way to the finale.

That competitive spirit truly ignited when Teo Ramdel, a charismatic 34-year-old from Tijuana, Mexico, stepped into the spotlight. His enthralling rendition of Luis Miguel’s “Historia de un Amor,” a soulful tribute to his mother, earned him a coveted four-chair turn and sparked an immediate battle among the coaching panel.

Country icon Reba McEntire was clearly captivated, telling Teo, “You’re singing is so sensual. It was sexy.

I loved it. I was very moved.”

She even wondered if he was a dancer, noting his expressive hand movements during the performance.

Michael Bublé, never one to miss a cultural connection, quickly played his Spanish card. “My four kids, they’re Latin kids and in my house my wife says, ‘I am not going to speak English.’” He joked that if Teo didn’t join his team, his wife might just leave him, highlighting their shared appreciation for Luis Miguel’s music.

Always quick with a quip, Snoop Dogg chimed in, asking if he could say “feliz cumpleaños,” pointing out that it was Teo’s birthday—a detail Michael had overlooked in his passionate plea. Snoop praised Teo as an “entertainer,” not just a singer, and promised to help him explore other genres while perfecting his Latin style, drawing on his own experience with artists in the field.

Even Niall Horan, despite admitting he doesn’t speak a word of Spanish, made a compelling pitch. “You don’t need to understand the language when you hear a voice like that. I understand feeling,” he asserted, emphasizing his ability to help Teo captivate listeners.

After all the spirited pitches, Teo made his choice, much to Michael Bublé’s delight: he joined Team Michael!

Beyond the lights and celebrity banter, Teo’s performance carried a deeply personal significance. He dedicated the song to his mother, who in March 2024, developed a medical condition that has left her unable to walk. It was his heartfelt way of showing appreciation for her strength and for raising him and his three sisters as a single mother in Tijuana, often through very difficult circumstances.

Catch “The Voice” and more incredible performances like Teo’s Monday and Tuesday nights at 8 p.m. ET/PT on NBC. If you miss it live, you can stream it the very next day on Peacock.
