Taylor Swift’s New Song Has Travis Kelce Worried About Dad’s Reaction

Additional Coverage:

Taylor Swift certainly didn’t hold back with one of the tracks on her new album. The pop superstar dropped her 12th studio effort, “The Life of a Showgirl,” last Friday, and the ninth song, “Wood,” has definitely gotten people talking.

Listeners quickly picked up on lyrics that many interpret as a rather direct nod to fiancé Travis Kelce’s anatomy, specifically mentioning how it “opened [her] thighs.” Swift also playfully alludes to Kelce’s “new heights of manhood,” a clever twist on his podcast title with brother Jason Kelce, while noting the “redwood tree… ain’t hard to see.”

The song’s candid nature even made waves within the Kelce family. Jason’s wife, Kylie, gave the album a listen and, like many, found “Wood” to be a standout track, even placing it in her top three. However, she admitted to a touch of awkwardness.

“Do I need that much detail, specifically about my brother-in-law? Probably not,” Kylie shared on her latest podcast episode, before adding a supportive “But also, good job, Trav.

That’s it. Yes. 1,000% yes, that’s women supporting women.

Proud of ya.”

Travis himself weighed in on the album during a recent “New Heights” episode. When Jason jokingly suggested hosting a live listening party for their father, Travis’s response was a simple, “Dude, I’m terrified.”

Despite the potentially blush-inducing lyrics, the album has been a massive hit. “The Life of a Showgirl” racked up over 6 million pre-saves on Spotify, setting a new record, and its lead single, “The Fate of Ophelia,” also broke the record for most streams in a single day.
