Pawn Shop Pig Grill Gets a Rough Ride on “Pawn Stars”

Even the most seasoned pawnbrokers have their moments, and Rick Harrison of “Pawn Stars” recently had one that left a pig-shaped barbecue grill in a bit of a pickle. The incident unfolded after a unique vintage item made its way into the famous Gold & Silver Pawn Shop.

The item in question was a never-used, pig-shaped barbecue grill, reportedly from the 1950s or 60s. A woman brought it in, hoping to sell it for some extra cash for a trip to Spain. Despite its age, the grill looked pristine, a testament to its unused condition.

During the negotiation, “Old Man” Richard Harrison, Rick’s father, unexpectedly appeared, reminiscing about his own grilling days. He encouraged Corey, Rick’s son, to buy the grill. After some back-and-forth, Corey sealed the deal for $375, a slight reduction from the initial $500 asking price.

Back in the shop, Corey was proud of his acquisition, and both Rick and Richard were impressed. However, Richard’s immediate desire to use the grill for a barbecue sparked a humorous debate. Rick, ever the critic, playfully jabbed at his father’s grilling prowess, claiming his barbecuing defied “the laws of physics” by managing to burn food on the outside while leaving it raw on the inside.

Fearing for the grill’s resale value, Corey attempted to hide his new treasure. But Richard, determined to fire it up, eventually tracked it down.

As Richard was about to put it to use, Rick intervened. In an attempt to move the grill, it seemingly broke.

Fortunately, the damage was minor, and Rick quickly reassembled it. That didn’t stop Richard from playfully calling Rick a “chicken” and adding, “Chickens are only good for one thing: grilling.” Despite the pig grill’s brief mishap, Richard ultimately got his barbecue, opting for a more conventional grill to cook up some hamburgers for the crew.
