Drone Delivers Surprise Splash, Not Surveillance, to Apartment Resident
Living in your own home, you expect a certain level of privacy. So, when an unexpected visitor, especially one that flies, hovers outside your window, it’s bound to raise an eyebrow or two. For one apartment resident, what started as a suspicious encounter with a drone quickly turned into a surprising splash.
Jasmine, an apartment dweller, initially suspected she was being watched when she noticed an autonomous flying device hovering just outside her window. Unsure of its purpose or who was controlling it, she naturally felt a bit uneasy. Her feline companion, Pretzel, also seemed curious, inching closer to get a better look at the uninvited aerial guest.
In a video Jasmine later posted to Instagram, she can be heard questioning the drone’s intentions as it seemingly gazed back at her. But before she could ponder the mystery much longer, the drone unleashed a powerful stream of water, striking her window. The sudden drenching sent Jasmine shrieking in surprise and her cat scurrying out of the room.
As it turns out, the drone wasn’t a peeping Tom or a police surveillance unit, but rather a high-tech window washer. The device was actively cleaning the windows of the high-rise apartment building, a modern solution designed to eliminate the need for human window cleaners to navigate dangerous heights.
Jasmine later clarified in the comments of her post that residents in her building had, in fact, been notified multiple times about the upcoming drone window cleaning. Her full email inbox, however, had prevented her from receiving the important updates.
“Yes, Pretzel and I are both okay!” she assured followers, adding, “Yes, residents were all notified multiple times, I just didn’t get them because my email was full, so I was unaware.”
The unexpected water blast certainly surprised many viewers of Jasmine’s video. Commenters shared their initial thoughts, ranging from fears of a “peeping tom” or “the police” to the startling notion that the glass itself might have been breaking.
One individual remarked, “Ma’am, I thought this was a peeping tom or even the police. Was NOT expecting water to shoot.
We are all traumatized.” Another echoed the sentiment, stating, “That scared ME!
I thought the water was the glass breaking.”
While some found the situation unsettling, others couldn’t help but see the humor in it. “I’m sorry, but I am laughing so hard. I cannot breathe and I have tears going down my face,” one commenter shared.
