Denise Richards Secures Five-Year Restraining Order Against Estranged Husband Aaron Phypers

Los Angeles, CA – Actress and reality TV personality Denise Richards has been granted a five-year permanent restraining order against her estranged husband, Aaron Phypers, amidst their ongoing and contentious divorce proceedings. A Los Angeles judge issued the order on Friday, mandating that Phypers maintain a significant distance from Richards and comply with several strict conditions.

The new order, which remains in effect until November 7, 2030, prohibits Phypers from purchasing or possessing firearms, contacting Richards, or engaging in any form of abuse, among other restrictions, according to reports from People magazine.

Representatives for both Richards and Phypers have not yet responded to requests for comment regarding the latest judicial decision.

This development follows months of acrimonious court hearings that have brought to light a series of serious allegations, including accusations of infidelity, drug addiction, and abuse within their marriage.

Businessman Phypers, 53, initiated divorce proceedings in July, citing irreconcilable differences after six years of marriage to Richards, 54. He also requested spousal support, claiming he has had no income since closing a business last year.

Court documents suggest Phypers estimates Richards, known for her roles in “Starship Troopers” and “Wild Things,” earns over $250,000 monthly from various ventures, including brand deals, television appearances, and OnlyFans content. Phypers has also sought to keep his personal assets and debts separate, including his power tools, motorcycle, and sports car.

Richards and Phypers began dating in 2017 and married in a private Malibu ceremony in September 2018. The couple shares no children, though Richards is mother to three daughters: two with ex-husband Charlie Sheen and an adopted teenage daughter. Phypers was previously married to “Desperate Housewives” star Nicollette Sheridan from 2015 to 2018.

Weeks after Phypers filed for divorce, Richards countered with a temporary restraining order request in July, detailing allegations of abuse, death threats, and the possession of unregistered weapons by her estranged husband. The Los Angeles County Superior Court granted the temporary order, requiring Phypers to stay at least 100 yards from Richards, her vehicle, workplace, and home, and to surrender any firearms or body armor. Phypers has denied these allegations.

Richards’ filing referenced alleged abuse that occurred during their marriage, including incidents between July 4 and July 14, after she had moved out of their shared home and into a complex of three townhouses she uses for her residence, a studio, and an office.

Since July, the estranged couple has publicly exchanged accusations in both public statements and legal filings. Phypers accused Richards of infidelity and of distressing his parents during a visit to their Calabasas home in early August to retrieve her dogs. Conversely, Richards alleged in court documents that Phypers and his family refused to vacate the Calabasas property after repeatedly failing to pay rent, and that they left the home in disarray.

The legal battle took another turn in October when Phypers was arrested following a heated courthouse hearing. Law enforcement took him into custody, charging him with two felony counts of injuring a spouse and two felony counts of dissuading a witness by force or threat, as reported by TMZ. He was subsequently released after posting a $200,000 bond.
