Local Marine Trainer Takes a “Winding Path” on “Wheel of Fortune,” Loses Out on $40,000
As Americans prepare to honor our nation’s heroes this Veterans’ Day, “Wheel of Fortune” recently featured a contestant with a truly unique military background. While she didn’t hit the jackpot, her story is one for the books!
Christina, a former U.S. Marine, not only served her country but also taught fellow Marines how to safely ride motorcycles.
Talk about a cool gig! Host Ryan Seacrest noted her love for her Harley, to which Christina enthusiastically agreed, hoping a big win would fuel her next ride.
Christina spun her way to a respectable $17,889 before heading to the Bonus Round. Under the “Place” category, and with the standard R, S, T, L, N, and E already revealed, she chose C, L, D, and A. After realizing one was a repeat, she swapped in an H, which did light up one spot on the board.
The puzzle stared back at her: “_ND_N _ATH.” With only 10 seconds ticking away, Christina tried to sound it out, but the correct answer, “Winding Path,” remained elusive. Though she missed out on the $40,000 in the envelope, Christina still left with over $17,000 and a well-deserved thank you from Seacrest for her service.
While some viewers on social media found the puzzle an “easy solve” after her letter choices, it’s clear Christina’s service to our nation is anything but. She may not have ridden off into the sunset with the Bonus Round prize, but she certainly made a memorable impression!
