Blast from the Past! Michael J. Fox and Joan Jett Rock a ‘Light of Day’ Reunion

New York City was buzzing with a touch of ’80s nostalgia this past Saturday, November 15, as screen icon Michael J. Fox reunited with legendary rocker Joan Jett on the red carpet. The dynamic duo, who famously played siblings in the 1987 film Light of Day, came together for Fox’s annual “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to Cure Parkinson’s” event.

Fox, 64, and Jett, 67, were all smiles, giving a thumbs-up to the cameras as they posed for photos. Their decades-long friendship, forged on the set of the musical drama where they portrayed a brother-sister rock band, was clearly still going strong.

This isn’t the first time Jett has lent her support to Fox’s foundation. She’s been a consistent presence at the annual gala, even performing “Light of Day” with Fox in 2003, and collaborating again in 2011 and 2017. This year, Jett was also joined by her longtime collaborator, songwriter and producer Kenny Laguna.

The star-studded evening saw a host of other notable personalities in attendance, including comedians Denis Leary, Susie Essman, Nikki Glaser, Jon Stewart, and Justin Long. Media personalities and actors like Katie Couric, Julianna Margulies, George Stephanopoulos, Harlan Coben, and Kate Bosworth also graced the event.

Beyond the celebrity guest list, the gala was a true family affair for Michael J. Fox.

He was joined by his wife, Tracy Pollan, and all four of their children: 36-year-old son Sam, 30-year-old twin daughters Aquinnah and Schuyler, and 24-year-old daughter Esmé. The couple, married since 1988, presented a united front in support of the crucial cause.
