DC Plastic Surgeon Warns Against “Maleficent” Look, Cites Influx of “MAGA Face” Requests
**Washington D.C. ** – A prominent D.C.-based plastic surgeon is sounding the alarm on a growing trend in cosmetic procedures, where patients are increasingly requesting a more “obvious” aesthetic, a look critics have dubbed the “MAGA face.”
Dr. Anita Kulkarni, who specializes in postpartum body contouring in the city’s West End, reports a significant shift in patient demands since the lead-up to former President Trump’s second term.
According to Dr. Kulkarni, the previous norm for patients was to achieve a refreshed appearance without overtly signaling cosmetic work.
However, she now observes a surge in requests for more pronounced features, reminiscent of the looks seen on figures such as Kristi Noem, Kimberly Guilfoyle, and Laura Loomer, who, along with Lara Trump and Melania Trump, have seemingly undergone notable transformations. Even 28-year-old press secretary Karoline Leavitt has drawn attention for apparent drastic changes to her appearance.
“Before this second Trump term, I just didn’t see a lot of patients coming in making unreasonable requests,” Dr. Kulkarni stated. While no one explicitly asks for a “Mar-a-Lago face,” she frequently finds herself having to decline requests for excessive lip, cheek, or jawline filler.
“I have to say: ‘I cannot put any more in there safely,’” she explained, detailing instances where she must draw a line. “‘To my eye, if I put any more in there, you’re going to cross over from looking like the best version of yourself to looking like Maleficent.’ I have to say no in a way that I have never seen before.”
Dr. Kulkarni emphasized the risks associated with applying fresh filler too soon over existing layers, which can lead to an undesirable lumpy appearance. She is resolute in protecting her professional reputation and will not compromise her standards.
“My aesthetic doesn’t necessarily have to be your aesthetic for me to give you what you want,” she clarified. “But when you go outside the range of what a normal human face should look like, that’s not a place I’m willing to go.”
The “MAGA look” has not escaped public scrutiny, with figures like Kristi Noem becoming targets of satire. The animated comedy series “South Park,” for instance, depicted her with a “melting face” requiring constant touch-ups and a full-time glam squad, highlighting the public’s perception of these dramatic cosmetic transformations.
