Curry Sidelined for Approximately One Week with Quad Contusion

Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry is expected to miss roughly a week of action after sustaining a quad contusion during the team’s recent loss to the Houston Rockets, according to reports from ESPN. The exact duration of Curry’s absence will hinge on his response to ongoing treatment.

While any time off the court for Curry is a blow, there’s a collective sigh of relief as the injury is not believed to be serious. The incident occurred with 3:24 remaining in the game when Curry took a charge. He was observed walking gingerly into the locker room in the final minute of the Warriors’ 104-100 defeat.

“When I heard it was a quad, I was actually relieved,” Warriors coach Steve Kerr commented post-game, adding, “Better than an ankle or a knee.”

The injury will likely keep Curry out of at least the Warriors’ upcoming home matchups against the New Orleans Pelicans and the reigning champion Oklahoma City Thunder. Following these games, the team embarks on a four-game road trip, commencing eight days after Curry’s injury with a game against the Philadelphia 76ers.

Currently, the Warriors hold a 10-10 record, placing them eighth in the Western Conference standings. A key concern for the team lately has been their defensive performance, or rather, the lack thereof.

“A lot of our hustle is dictated upon our offense,” Warriors guard Jimmy Butler remarked after Wednesday night’s loss. “When we’re making shots, oh, man, we’re celebrating, we’re cheering, doing all those things.

When we’re not, when the game’s not going our way, we put our head down and we mope and we don’t box out, and we don’t get back. We foul.

We do all the bad things.”
