Prince Harry is reportedly aiming for a major coup, hoping to enlist global superstar Jennifer Lopez for an appearance at an upcoming Invictus Games event. The Duke of Sussex founded the Invictus Games in 2014, an initiative dedicated to supporting the recovery of wounded, injured, and sick servicemen and women from around the world.
An insider shared that securing Lopez would be “phenomenal for the charity and a thrill for him too.” Harry is apparently “reaching out to everyone that he’s got a connection to,” with Lopez being “the most thrilling prospect for him because he’s very starstruck by her.”
According to Star Magazine, the source also revealed Harry’s competitive spirit, noting that seeing his older brother, Prince William, attract “all these big names for his charity, has lit a fire under him.”
This isn’t the first time the Duke of Sussex has crossed paths with the “Jenny from the Block” singer. The Express previously reported that Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, enjoyed a double date with Lopez and her then-partner, Alex Rodriguez, in February 2020.
Meanwhile, Prince William has a well-established track record of drawing A-list talent, frequently collaborating with celebrities such as Hannah Waddingham and Cate Blanchett. Most recently, William appeared alongside pop icon Kylie Minogue at the 2025 Earthshot Prize Awards in Rio de Janeiro, where the two smiled for photographers on the green carpet, with William publicly acknowledging her support.
The next Invictus Games ceremony is scheduled to take place in Birmingham in 2027. The UK-supported bid was chosen over six other global cities, largely due to Birmingham’s strong commitment to the well-being and recovery of active service members and veterans.
The Invictus Games Foundation’s Board of Trustees had previously narrowed the host city contenders for the eighth Invictus Games to Birmingham and Washington, D.C. After reviewing presentations from both teams earlier this year, Birmingham was ultimately selected. It’s a long-standing tradition for a high-profile celebrity to grace the stage at both the opening and closing ceremonies of the games.
