London Police Find No Evidence of Prince Andrew’s Alleged Request to Investigate Epstein Victim

London’s Metropolitan Police announced Saturday that their assessment found no evidence to support claims that Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, formerly known as Prince Andrew, asked a bodyguard to investigate Jeffrey Epstein victim Virginia Giuffre.

The inquiry began in October following media reports suggesting that in 2011, the then-Prince Andrew sought to discredit Giuffre by requesting a police bodyguard to look into her criminal record. The Mail on Sunday newspaper specifically alleged that he provided Giuffre’s date of birth and social security number to his taxpayer-funded protection officer.

In a statement released today, the Metropolitan Police clarified that their review “has not revealed any additional evidence of criminal acts or misconduct,” and as a result, no criminal investigation will be initiated.

“The Met remains committed to thoroughly assessing any new information that could assist in this matter,” stated Central Specialist Crime Commander Ella Marriott. “To date, we have not received any additional evidence that would support reopening the investigation.

In the absence of any further information, we will be taking no further action. Our thoughts will always be with Ms.

Giuffre’s family and friends following her death.”

Giuffre, who tragically died by suicide in April, had alleged that as a teenager in the early 2000s, she was ensnared in Epstein’s sex trafficking operation and exploited by Andrew and other prominent individuals.

Last month, King Charles III officially removed his younger brother’s royal titles. This decision came after new details surfaced regarding Andrew’s association with Epstein and renewed scrutiny of Giuffre’s allegations sparked by her posthumously released memoir. Recent photographs from Epstein’s estate, shared by House Oversight Committee Democrats, depict Andrew alongside other well-known figures.

Mountbatten-Windsor reached an out-of-court settlement with Giuffre in 2022 after she filed a civil lawsuit against him in New York. While he did not admit to any wrongdoing, he did acknowledge Giuffre’s suffering as a victim of sex trafficking.
