Barry Manilow Shares Positive Outlook on Lung Cancer Recovery, Set to Return to Las Vegas Stage
Las Vegas, NV – Legendary entertainer Barry Manilow, 82, is making a strong recovery after revealing a lung cancer diagnosis in December 2025. The news, which came as a shock to his devoted fanbase, followed weeks of battling bronchitis and a subsequent relapse.
Manilow, born on June 17, 1943, credited his “wonderful” doctor for the early detection. After an extended period of bronchitis, his physician ordered an MRI as a precautionary measure, which ultimately uncovered a cancerous spot on his left lung. “It was pure luck to have found it so early,” Manilow shared in an Instagram post at the time, calling the discovery “good news” despite the initial gravity.
The “Copacabana” artist confirmed that the spot required removal but assured fans that doctors did not believe the cancer had spread. He also offered a lighthearted take on his recovery plan, stating he would not undergo chemotherapy or radiation. “Just chicken soup and I Love Lucy reruns,” he quipped.
Manilow appears to be maintaining a positive outlook on his health journey. As he continues his recovery at home, the “Mandy” singer is already preparing for a highly anticipated return to the stage.
Fans can look forward to seeing him back at the Westgate Las Vegas for Valentine’s Day in February 2026. In his announcement, Manilow also took the opportunity to encourage his followers to “get tested” if they detect even the “slightest symptom” of an illness.
